FED:AEC about more than just jobs: Arbib

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - Thousands of jobs pledged by corporate Australia under mining
magnate Andrew Forrest's indigenous employment program might not be filled for up to five
years, the federal government says.

But Indigenous Employment Minister Mark Arbib says the program is still a success because
it's helped change the business culture when it comes to employing Aborigines.

Mr Forrest and then prime minister Kevin Rudd launched the Australian Employment Covenant
(AEC) in 2008 with the goal of creating 50,000 jobs.
